Police were investigating a crash involving a pedestrian early Wednesday morning near uptown Charlotte.
Officers had North Tryon Street blocked near 10th Street after a person was hit by a vehicle around 7:30 a.m. near the men's shelter.
Paramedics transported that person to Carolinas Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Police reopened the lanes of North Tryon around 7:50 a.m.
