A 50-year-old Loup City woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash northwest of Central City.
Just after 3:45 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 14th and T Roads, the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office said. A 2006 Mitsubishi was headed south on 14th Road and collided with an eastbound 2005 Peterbilt straight truck.
Theresa Ahrens, the Mitsubishi driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken by medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment of injuries that officials did not consider life-threatening.
The truck driver, Jacob Kuntz, 21, of Genoa, was not injured.
All involved were wearing seat belts, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
