Dunwoody, GA : Infant dies following early morning crash on I-285 on Monday, 2nd September 2019

An infant died following a multi-vehicle crash on I-285 in Dunwoody Monday morning. Dunwoody police said two vehicles collided on westbound I-285 near Chamblee Dunwoody Road at 5:05 a.m. Then two more crashes occurred as a result of the first, police said. One of those secondary crashes involved a Gwinnett County ambulance transporting an infant. When the ambulance became undrivable, the DeKalb County Fire Department responded and transported the infant to a hospital. The infant passed away at the hospital from causes not likely related to the crash, police said. Three other people – all adults – were transported to area hospitals following the crashes. They appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries.
