Enid, OK : Woods County crash injures 1 on Saturday September 17 2016

A Miami women was injured in a single-vehicle accident northwest of Alva Saturday night.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report stated that at 8:45 p.m., a 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by Joshua Neil Bridgman, 28, of Alva, was southbound on a Woods County road when he lost control and entered a broad slide. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled one-half time, striking an electric utility pole, ejecting the driver.

Bridgman was treated and released from Share Medical Center.

A passenger in the car, Heather Nicole Nelums, 26, of Miami, was transported by Alva EMS to Share Medical Center in Alva, and later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in stable condition with head, arm and internal injuries.

The OHP report stated the driver of the car had an “odor of alcohol” and the collision cause was alcohol/DUI.

Seat belts were equipped but not in use, according to the report.

Trooper Gene Goodson of the Major County detachment of Troop J investigated the crash, and was assisted at the scene by Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Woods County Fire and Alva EMS.
