TAUNTON, MA : Suspects in fatal Taunton hit-and-run face judge on Monday, November 14th 2016
Two suspects faced a judge Monday in connection to a deadly hit-and-run in Taunton.
19-year-old Cecily Kilsby-Munafo was ordered to $10,000 cash bail for current charges, but she violated her probation. As a result, she is being held without bail.
The co-defendant, 26-year-old Ryan O'Day, was held on $7,500 cash bail.
The prosecutor says Kilsby-Munafo admitted to driving the car while O'Day, who is her boyfriend, was inside the car at the time of the accident.
The prosecutor also says that after the crash, O’Day threw 36-year-old Michael Alfano bike into the woods and Kilsby-Munafo threw victim’s boot into woods as well.
Police say the 19-year-old hit Alfano with her car in the area of Washington Street and Broadway on Thursday.
Upon arrival, officers found Alfano lying in the road with critical head trauma.
Alfano was sent to Morton Hospital, but was soon taken by Med-Flight to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead hours later.
An investigation led by Taunton Police determined Alfano was thrown from the bike, and the vehicle continued down Washington Street dragging the bike underneath.
The bike, as well as the vehicle that struck Alfano, was found on Park Street, locked but unattended.
