TRAVERSE CITY, MI : Deputies investigate multi-car crash on Thursday, 11th October 2018

Authorities continue to investigate why an elderly man drove through a red light and crashed into several cars waiting for the light to go green.

Grand Traverse County sheriff’s deputies believe an 82-year-old Traverse City man drove his 2018 Ford F-150 southbound on U.S. 31 Thursday. He ran a red light, drove through traffic moving east and west on South Airport Road and struck four vehicles waiting to drive northbound on U.S. 31, said sheriff’s Lt. Chris Barsheff.

The driver suffered “bumps, bruises and scratches,” a woman went to Munson Medical Center for pain treatment and responders reported no further injuries, Barsheff said.
