Andrews, S.C : Heaven LeeAnne Bowers, 16, died in a one-vehicle accident near Bigelow Drive and Ten Acre Road in Andrews on Thursday, January 22, 2015

A 16-year-old girl was killed in a wreck at Bigelow Drive and 10 Acre Road in Georgetown County Thursday morning, according to Georgetown County Coroner Paulette Radcliffe.

Heaven LeeAnne Bowers, 16, of Andrews, was identified by Radcliffe as the person killed in the crash.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened when Bowers was heading east on Ten Acre Road at 7:19 a.m. He said she ran off the right side of the road into the ditch.

The vehicle overturned and Bowers, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car, Collins said.
