Bronx, NY : City correction officer charged with driving while intoxicated after crash in Eastchester Sunday morning, May 8, 2016

An off-duty city correction officer was arrested Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated in the Bronx, police said.

Everald Searchwell, 54, was hospitalized after he crashed his car at Provost Ave. and Light St. in Eastchester Sunday morning, police said.

Searchwell was later charged with driving drunk after a blood-alcohol test revealed the correction officer was over the legal .08 limit.
