McPherson, KS : Teen killed in Mac County crash on Saturday September 3 2016
A Little River teenager, Tyler R. Karraker, 19, died in an accident just prior to 9 p.m. on Saturday on Kansas Highway 61 at mile marker 75.8 about four miles north of Inman.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a 2014 Dodge Ram truck was pulling a horse trailer. The vehicle was driven by Tally A. Klitze, 43, Windom. Klitze was westbound on Comanche Road, she stopped at a stop sign on Kansas Highway 61.
Klitze proceeded through the intersection after ensuring oncoming traffic was a safe distance away.
Karraker was driving a 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, going northbound. Karraker reportedly struck the center of the horse trailer then came to a stop across the northbound lanes of the highway.
Colton L. Dyche, 22 of Coats was driving a 2014 semi tractor trailer north on Kansas Highway 61 and struck the S10.
Karraker was transported by emergency personnel to Hutchinson Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the highway patrol, all individuals were properly restrained during the incident. Klitze, Dyche and a passenger in the semi were not injured.
