Concord, N.C : Man severely injured when vehicle crashes, goes down embankment on Saturday afternoon, April 16, 2016

A man was hurt when his vehicle went down an embankment and crashed Saturday afternoon in Concord.

Officials on scene say the man was speeding and lost control of his car on Rocky River Road. His vehicle went down an embankment and crashed into trees.

The driver's injuries were reportedly severe enough to be airlifted to the hospital, but a helicopter was unable to get to him. He was taken by ambulance instead.
