A New Plymouth man was being treated at the hospital after a crash caused two vehicles to rollover Saturday.

Oscar Cisneros, 20, of New Plymouth, was driving westbound on Interstate 84 at 7:25 a.m. in a 2007 Hummer H3, according to a news release from Idaho State Police. Ronald Dietzler, 80, of Meridian, was driving next to him in a 1959 Ford Thunderbird, the release states.

The Hummer struck the Ford on the driver’s side and both vehicles went into the median and rolled near milepost 12, west of the Black Canyon exit, the news release states.

The Hummer came to rest in the left lane on the eastbound side of Interstate 84, while the Ford came to rest in the median. Cisneros was taken by ground ambulance to St. Luke’s Fruitland Medical Plaza and Dietzler was taken by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, according to the news release.

The eastbound lane was partially blocked for four hours while crews cleared the scene, the release states.

State police are investigating the crash.
