Dearborn, MI : 57-year-old Dearborn Heights woman killed after hit by a car on Michigan Avenue on Tuesday morning, Nov 24, 2015

A 57-year-old Dearborn Heights woman was killed Tuesday morning when she was hit by a car on Michigan Avenue, police said.

The woman was walking across Michigan Avenue, contrary to the red light, to catch a bus, police said.

She was hit by a 47-year-old Woodhaven woman who was on Michigan Avenue going through the green light at Outer Drive, police said.

The Dearborn Heights woman was pronounced dead at Beaumont Hospital.

The other driver was not hurt.

Police said their preliminary investigation reveals alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
