Coeur D'Alene , AZ : Semi-truck that overturned on Eastbound Interstate 90 near Sherman Avenue on Sunday afternoon June 28 ,2015

The Idaho State Police are investigating a semi-truck that overturned on Eastbound Interstate 90 near Sherman Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

Police said they were on scene by 2:30 p.m. Police said the semi-truck was hauling bees, and that the bees are swarming the area.

Officials are saying that traffic on eastbound I-90 is currently backed up at least two miles and is at a total standstill.

One man told KREM 2 News that there could now be about 1,000,000 bees on the loose.

Drivers are reporting seeing signs along the highways warning of the bees and asking drivers to roll up their windows to avoid getting stung.

Authorities have asked that the public avoid the area.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
