Two people killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut on Saturday morning were both passengers in a car driven by a New Jersey woman, police said.
The driver, who police identified as Debra Taliaferroholmes, 56, of Manalapan, was seriously injured. Hilda Thomas, 61, of Abingdon, Md., and Stacy Lockhart, 38, of Selma, Ala., died in the eight-vehicle crash, according to Connecticut State Police.
Seven other people, including four New Jersey residents, suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
Two tractor trailers were involved in the crash that occurred around 5:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 in Old Lyme, Conn., near the Exit 70 off ramp, police said.
Police said the crash is still under investgation.
