North Elba, N.Y : Vt. man charged with crashing two cars in North Country on Sunday, August 17, 2014

A Vermont man is charged with crashing two cars in one day in New York's North Country. Riley Winch, 31, is accused of choking a 23-year-old woman, Sunday at home on Beechwood Road in Harrietstown then fleeing the scene. State Police say while they were searching for the Waterbury man, he returned to the victim's home and stole her car. They later found him walking along Route 86. Troopers say he was injured and drunk. They found one car crashed along Route 86, the other in North Elba. Winch is facing several charges including DWI.
