Manteca, CA : Woman killed in crash on Wednesday July 23rd 2014

The Manteca woman killed in a car crash Wednesday was identified Monday morning by the San Joaquin County Sheriff-Coroner's Office as Betty Pauline Burlingame, 81.

She had been traveling east on Louise Avenue in a 2007 Ford about 7 a.m. when she made a left turn onto Jack Tone Road, directly into the path of a 2012 Ford driven by a 27-year-old Ripon woman, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, and passersby stopped to render aid.

Burlingame died at the scene, according to the CHP, and the Ripon woman was taken to a Modesto hospital for treatment. Her injuries and condition were not released.
