Six months after retiring, former Boise State University president Bob Kustra is looking at the university through a new lens.

The day after Kustra finished his 15-year term at the school, he and his wife hopped on a plane to Chicago, to spend time with their children. From there, they traveled around for a couple of months, not returning to Boise until after Labor Day.
"When I got back it was the first moment I really had where I thought 'I'm not reporting for duty anymore. I have all this flexibility,'" Kustra said.
