After the early-morning crash, Dennis T. Jones Jr. was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the 36-year-old Ocala man died Tuesday afternoon at the hospital.
Troopers said the second person was also taken to ORMC with minor injuries.
A third person was not seriously injured and therefore did not go to the hospital, officials said.
According to troopers, a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by Jones was northbound at the intersection of Northeast 36th Avenue Road and State Road 326.
The second vehicle, a 1999 Ford F-250, was eastbound on SR 326, driven by Robert A. Martineau.
