El Paso, TX : Two people were killed in a multivehicle wreck on Interstate 10 on Thursday, December, 21st 2017
Two people were killed early Thursday morning in a multivehicle wreck on Interstate 10 East near the Americas Avenue exit, El Paso police said.
A preliminary investigation found that a construction vehicle was parked in the center median between I-10 East and I-10 West. It had a conveyor belt that was protruding 4 feet into the I-10 East inside lane, police said in a news release.
At 2:22 a.m., a red, 2016 Peterbuilt semi and a silver 2007 Walk Tanker trailer registered in Missouri were eastbound on the inside lane and hit the conveyor arm, causing damage to the driver’s side mirror. The driver pulled over and exited the damaged vehicle.
