Lansing, MI : Early morning Gratiot County crash sends two to hospital on Wednesday, October, 25th 2017
Two people were injured when the car they were in pulled in the path of tractor trailer in Wheeler Township early Wednesday morning.
Crystal Hartley, 56, of Midland was southbound on Meridian Road/M-30 when, after stopping at a traffic sign at M-46, she pulled into the path of a westbound tractor trailer, said Gratiot County Sheriff Doug Wright.
Ryan Deleeuw, 37, of Bay City tried to avoid the collision but was unable to do so, Wright said in a media release.
Hartley and her passenger Emily Bolander, 52, of Midland were taken to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw with non-life threatening injuries; Deleeuw was uninjured in the crash.
All three were wearing seat belts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, Wright said. The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and Breckenridge Wheeler Fire and Rescue.
