Kissimmee, FL : Illinois woman killed in 2-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 192 in Osceola County early Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016

A woman from Illinois was killed early Wednesday morning after the SUV she was a passenger in was hit by another vehicle.
The crash happened at 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 192 and Four Winds Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 2003 Ford Expedition being driven by Alberto Vasquez of Orland Park, Illinois was traveling westbound on U.S. 192, and while attempting to make a U-turn, drove into the path of a car driven by 35-year-old Joseph Polkey of St. Cloud.
Troopers said Polkey’s car hit the rear of the SUV, which then overturned onto its roof. FHP said there were eight people in the SUV, and only three were wearing seatbelts. Six were transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where one, 21-year-old Elisha Ortiz of Orland Park, Illinois, died. Vasquez was not injured.
Polkey was also transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
