Port Clinton, OH : Local driver injured in 3-vehicle crash on State Route 2 in Ottawa County on Monday, June 23, 2014
At 4:35 a.m. Monday, the Ohio Highway Patrol handled a three- vehicle injury crash on State Route 2 in Ottawa County.
The crash involved a passenger car and two commercial vehicles.
Bonnie S. Collum, 50, of Bellevue, Ohio was driving a 2007 Buick Century and was wearing her safety belt at the time of the crash. Collum sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to Magruder Hospital by Carroll Township EMS.
Darrell M. Slough, 53, of Flushing, Michigan, was driving a 2013 Volvo Semi and was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. Slough was not injured in the crash.
Steven G. Gottschalk, 49, of Dansville, Michigan, was driving another 2013 Volvo Semi and was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. Gottschalk was not injured from the crash.
Collum was traveling westbound on State Route 2 while Slough and Gottschalk were traveling eastbound on State Route 2.
Collum traveled left of center and struck the right side of Slough's vehicle. Gottschalk was travelling behind Slough and swerved to the right to avoid the collision.
Gottschalk then went off the right side of the roadway and struck the ditch. There was no contact between Gottschalk and either of the other two vehicles involved.
Collum's vehicle was towed by Ken's Towing and both commercial vehicles were towed by World Truck Center.
The Sandusky Post was assisted on scene by the Ottawa County Sherif's Office and Carroll Township Police and Fire Department. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
