Man arrested in Atlanta crash that killed 12 year old
Police say a man has been arrested in a hit and run crash that killed a 12-year-old boy in southwest Atlanta.
Authorities say 43-year-old Gatha M. Dyer has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license, failure to yield, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving. According to Fulton County jail records, Dyer is being held on $11,700 bond.
Dyer is accused of hitting the unidentified boy as he crossed the street Monday afternoon and fleeing the scene. Police spokeswoman Kim Jones says he later surrendered to Clayton County police. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
