QUINCY, IL : Minor injuries reported in crash near Quincy on Monday, December 12, 2016

Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Ill. 96 and U.S. 24 north of Quincy.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said a 2014 Ford Mustang driven by David R. Oakley, 76, of Quincy, was heading south on U.S. 24 approaching the Ill. 96 intersection at 1:28 p.m., when it turned southbound onto Ill. 96 into the path of a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle driven by a 15-year-old girl.

The girl and a passenger, Heidi C. Merkel, 45, were both taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment. Oakley also suffered minor injuries, police said.

Assisting were the Adams County Ambulance Service and the Tri-Township Fire Department.
