Eaton Twp, OH : Grafton woman injured in car crash on state Route 83 in Eaton Township on Tuesday, July 7, 2015
A Grafton woman was injured when police said the car she was driving rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on state Route 83 around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The crash occurred south of Cooley Road and may have been alcohol-related, according to Trooper Ray Santiago of the Ohio Highway Patrol Elyria post, who investigated the accident. Santiago said Angela Cole was northbound in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala when she struck a northbound Ford Expedition or Ford Explorer driven by Cynthia Cromling.
Cromling had pulled out of the driveway before being struck. The 44-year-old Cole, whose address was unavailable early this morning, was hospitalized at MetroHealth Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Santiago said. She is listed as being in fair condition. Cromling, 42, of 3976 Williams Court, Avon, wasn’t hospitalized.
A report was unavailable this morning, but Santiago said Cole smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking. The crash remains under investigation.
