Carbon County , UT : Four teenagers were killed after fiery crash in Carbon County on Friday night , December 19th 2014

Pennsylvania State Police are not publicly identifying the four teenagers killed in a fiery crash Friday night in Carbon County.

Trooper Nicholas Fiorey, the investigating officer from the Lehighton barracks, said the names will not be released because all four victims were juveniles. He also said no further news release on the crash was planned Saturday night.

The Carbon County Coroner's Office could not immediately be reached.

The crash occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township, outside Palmerton, when a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 headed west collided head-on with an eastbound 1996 Buick Skylark, police had said.

Both vehicles overturned and caught fire, and the Cavalier careened into a tree and was torn in half, according to police and media reports.

The impact ejected the driver of the Cavalier, a 17-year-old male. He and his three passengers, a 13-year-old female and two 16-year-old males, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A photographer at the scene said the girl was believed to be a sister of one of the boys killed.

Stacy Pedigree, an 18-year-old from Lehighton who was driving the Buick, and her passenger, 22-year-old Tim Shiner, of Palmerton, escaped from the burning vehicle and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
