Dover, DE : 65-year-old woman succumbs to injuries after Florence crash on Tuesday, 13th September 2016
A woman who was injured in a crash with a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning has since succumbed to her injuries, police said in a statement.
The 65-year-old woman from Bensalem, Pa., whose name was not included in the statement, was taken to a nearby hospital around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday after the Ford she was riding in collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Route 130 and Delaware Avenue, the statement said.
Police said Wednesday that the woman had died at the hospital.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 52-year-old man from Hamilton, was not injured in the crash. The woman's car was severely crushed and the tractor-trailer was jack-knifed, police have said. Following the crash Tuesday, police closed the intersection for hours and reopened it around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police were still investigating the crash Wednesday afternoon.
