York, PA : Motorcyclist died in fatal Fairview Twp. crash on Sunday evening, April 2, 2017

A 51-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash in Fairview Township on Sunday evening, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Eli Samuel Battistini-Garcia, of the 500 block of Ross Avenue in Fairview Township, died at the scene of the crash, which happened about 6:20 p.m. on Marsh Run Road near Old York Road, the coroner's office said in a news release.

Battistini-Garcia lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from the bike as it traveled for some distance along the road, clipping a pole and riding the guardrail, the release said.

He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene, according to the coroner's office, which said an autopsy wasn't planned.
