Reading, PA : Eight people hurt in 3-vehicle crash in Spring Township on Saturday, August 27, 2016

Eight people were transported to area hospitals Saturday after a three-vehicle accident in Spring Township.

Crews were dispatched to Penn Avenue and Dwight Street about 6:15 p.m. Two minivans collided and a third vehicle sustained minor damage, township police said.
At least two people had to be extricated from one of the minivans, police said. One minivan was pushed onto a grass embankment.

Police said two people involved in the accident suffered serious injuries.
The Spring Township Police Special Services Unit reconstructed the accident. Floodlights from the special services truck lit up the intersection well into the night.
Penn Avenue remained closed Saturday night between Norman Street and Stevens Avenue.
