Dothan, AL : Cottondale woman dies in one-vehicle crash in Jackson County on Thursday evening, November 17, 2016

A Cottondale woman died in a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 231 and Lakepoint Road in Jackson County, Florida.

According to a press release, the Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, Gloria Marie Souders, 61, was pronounced dead at the crash scene by Jackson County EMS.
The FHP was notified of the crash at 4:08 p.m. Friday, although the crash is believed to have occurred sometime Thursday evening.

The vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Scion, was northbound on U.S. 231 when it traveled off the roadway and collided with a stop sign on the east shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled down the embankment and across Lakepoint Road and entered the woods, striking a tree.
