Cape Coral, FL : Bicyclist with 0.22 BAC seriously injured in Cape Coral crash on Thursday, 27th February, 2020

A bicyclist was trauma alerted Thursday morning after a crash in Cape Coral.

Police were dispatched to Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Parkway at 12:46 a.m. for a vehicle and bicycle crash, according to a Cape Coral Police news release.

The bicyclist, Carlos Zorola III, of Cape Coral, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

While at the hospital, Zorola registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.220. In Florida, bicyclists can be arrested for biking under the influence if their BAC is more than 0.10.
