AUSTIN, TX : Main lanes of U.S. 290 in northeast Austin reopen after 2 die in crash on Friday, 29th January 2021
Most lanes have reopened on U.S. 290 in northeast Austin after a deadly crash.
The crash happened in the 9400 block of U.S. 290, near U.S. 183. Austin Police Department officers responded to the scene just before 4 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29.
At least two people were killed in the single-car crash, according to APD.
Officials confirmed at around 9 a.m. Friday that the eastbound main lanes had reopened near Johnny Morris Road. One lane on the frontage road is still closed for final clean-up, the Texas Department of Transportation said.
There is no word on how long the frontage road will remain closed.
