Fruita, CO : Driver identified in fatal Fruita crash near U.S. Highway 6&50 and 19 Road on Wednesday, 6th February 2019

The Mesa County coroner has identified the man who was killed a single-car crash Monday night in Fruita.

Nicholas Roberson, 19, of Parachute, died at the scene near U.S. Highway 6&50 and 19 Road. Roberson was the driver of the vehicle and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.2 percent, according to toxicology reports, which more than twice the legal limit. He was also not wearing a seat belt.

The accident occurred just after 10 p.m. Monday, according to the Fruita Police Department. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
