MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ : 2 police investigations underway after NJ pickup truck crash on Robin Hood Rd. off of Rt. 22 in Mountainside in Union County on Friday, 7th June 2019

Shots were fired after police pursuit ended with a crash, and then a foot chase in New Jersey.

It happened around 3 p.m. on Robin Hood Rd. off of Rt. 22 in Mountainside in Union County.

Residents in the area were confused and panicked after the suspect cut through several backyards.

The suspect was then cornered two blocks away. Sources say police shot him after he tried to wrestle a gun away from officers.

The suspect is expected to survive. Officials are not saying why police tried to pull him over, or why he fled.
