Rock Hill, S.C : Pedestrian, 54, killed in York County crash on Tuesday night, February 14, 2017

A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night after colliding with a car on U.S. 21 just south of Rock Hill, state troopers said.
John Carpenter, 54, died at the scene, said York County Coroner Sabrina Gast. There is no address listed for Carpenter, Gast said.
Carpenter was walking north on the highway around 10:15 p.m. with his back to traffic just south of the city limits near Galleria Drive when the collision happened, said Lance Cpl. Gary Miller of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The driver of a 2010 SUV, who was also heading north on the highway, was an 18-year-old Rock Hill man, Miller said. He was not injured.
No charges have been filed. S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Another pedestrian had life-threatening injuries after being hit on Monday by a car in Rock Hill.
