Pedestrian killed in east Orange crash
A pedestrian was killed late Thursday after he was hit by a car on east Colonial Drive, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The man's name has not been released. He is said to be "past middle age," troopers said.
The Honda Civic, driven by 22-year-old Jessica Sonia Santos, was heading eastbound on east Colonial Drive around 11:45 p.m. when the man crossed in front of the car.
Troopers said the man wasn't walking inside of the crosswalk. He also didn't yield the right of way to the car.
Once hit, the man flew onto the car's windshield before landing on the ground, a crash report said.
He also was struck by an eastbound Toyota Camry. The driver said she didn't see the man in the street.
An investigation is ongoing.
