One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash that happened at Augusta Road and Sandy Springs Road on Friday night, according to the Greenville County Coroner.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7:23 p.m.
A WYFF photographer on the scene said the Northbound lane was blocked in front of the Food Lion.
He also said Highway Patrol, Pelzer Rescue Squad and South Greenville Fire Department are on scene.
The coroner said Caroline Salmans, 72, of Piedmont, was killed.
An SUV traveling on Augusta Road hit the driver's side of a car trying to turn left out of a private drive, troopers said. Salmans was entrapped and died at the scene, the coroner said. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the SUV was hurt, according to troopers.
The SUV driver has not been charged, Highway Patrol said.
