Bremerton, WA : Four people injued after a crash involving five cars in Bremerton on Friday night, Nov 6, 2015
Four people were hospitalized, with one in critical condition, after a crash involving five cars in Bremerton on Friday night.
Bremerton police and fire crews responded to Kitsap Way and National Avenue North shortly after 9 p.m. and determined that a Honda, carrying three people, was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended by a Kia driving at a “very high rate of speed” down the hill behind it.
The collision pushed the Honda into the intersection, causing a collision with another vehicle. The Kia then hit two other vehicles before hitting the curb on the north side of Kitsap Way, which caused the car to roll. It came to rest on its roof near a building that is “well north of Kitsap Way,” police said.
Three people, including the female driver of the car that caused the crash were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton with injuries that were not life-threatening. A passenger from the Honda was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and is in critical condition, police said.
An infant was in a car seat in Kia’s back seat, and was not hurt.
Police say speed was “clearly a factor” in the crash, but the investigation is continuing.
