Southwest Lubbock, TX : 1 seriously injured in South Lubbock crash on Monday, 30th July 2018

A two-vehicle crash left two people injured - one seriously and prompted officials to close an intersection into Monday evening in southwest Lubbock.

The Lubbock Police Department was notified of a major crash involving a car and pick-up truck about 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of 130th Street and Upland Avenue, said police spokeswoman Tiffany Taylor.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old man, was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The pickup’s driver suffered moderate injuries. Investigators believe the car was northbound on Upland Avenue and the pickup was eastbound on 130th Street when they collided in the intersection. The crash remained under investigation late Monday.
