he driver of the car that ended up in the basement of an Aberdeen home on pinned a teenager for more than an hour was cited Sunday in the crash, police said.
Sabrina Bond, 32, of the 600 block of Shirley Drive in Edgewood, is charged with negligent driving and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision in the crash that injured a 16-year-old male, according to police.
Bond was not initially charged by Aberdeen Police in connection with the crash, in which she said a truck was following her, went around her and cut back in front of her.
She said she over-corrected her steering and accelerated, causing her vehicle to vault over a curb and crash through the front of the split level house, where it hit another wall and landed on top of the 16-year-old, who was sleeping on a couch. The teen was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and released within a few hours.
"In this case, after reviewing all the evidence from the crash, to include a video captured by resident's outside home security surveillance system, the officer made the decision to cite the driver," Ofc. Jason Neidig, of the Aberdeen Police Department, wrote in an email Sunday.
