Fort Walton Beach, FL : Teen's unborn child killed in NW Florida crash on Tuesday, Janaury 3, 2017

A young mother lost her unborn child as a result of a single-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports Kyle Velazquez, 23, of Bonifay was traveling eastbound on Old Mount Zion Road in Holmes County in a 2002 Dodge 1500 when he began to enter into a curve to the left and traveled off the roadway.
Velazquez's vehicle began to rotate counter clockwise. The right rear wheel collided with a small embankment on the east shoulder, and the truck began to overturn, coming to a final rest on its roof.

Velazquez and two passengers were ejected, including Jessica Hudson, an 18-year-old expectant mother from Bonifay.
Hudson, who was six months into her pregnancy, is listed in critical condition at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Her unborn child was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

Velazquez suffered serious injuries and was transported to Bay Medical Center in Panama City. Also injured were passengers Heather Locke, 20, of Bonifay, who suffered serious injury and was transported to Bay Medical Center and Amber Dykes, 19, of Sneads, who received minor injuries. A fourth passenger, Miles Birge, 19, of Bonifay was reported to not have sustained injuries in the crash.

None of the truck's occupants were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
Charges are pending.

The Holmes County Sheriff's Office, Holmes County EMS, Air Heart and Ponce de Leon Fire Department assisted on the scene.
