A Lamar County man was killed when his truck hit a tree on Alabama Highway 171 early Wednesday.

Mitchell Chase Bradford, 23, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that overturned after striking a tree near the six mile marker, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The crash happened at 12:45 a.m., about five miles north of Northport. Bradford, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
