Conway, SC : Coastal Carolina University college student killed in a car-pedestrian accident on Highway 501 in Horry County on Saturday, January 31, 2015
All lanes of Highway 501 are now opened after a pedestrian was struck and killed in the early morning hours of Saturday.
Deputy County Coroner Michelle McSpadden has confirmed that around 5 a.m. 18-year-old Cameron Baer was struck and killed by a car as he was walking across the intersection of Highway 501 and University Boulevard.
Baer moved here from Dallastown, Pennsylvania and was a student at Coastal Carolina University.
Conway police were on scene and had all northbound lanes on Highway 501 closed for a couple of hours. Traffic was being redirected to University Boulevard through University Commons.
