Lake County, OH : Two people injured in a head-on collision on North Ridge Road in Perry Township on Monday evening, February 2, 2015
Two men are recovering at a Cleveland hospital Tuesday after getting into a head-on collision on North Ridge Road in Perry Township, Monday evening.
The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. between Perry Park and Center roads in the eastbound lanes. Road conditions were very poor at the time, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
A 36-year-old Painesville man lost control of his SUV while trying to pass another car heading west, striking an oncoming pickup truck, deputies said.
Both the Painesville man and the driver of the pickup, a 68-year-old Parma Heights man, were taken to nearby hospitals, then later taken to Cleveland's MetroHealth Medical Center.
North Ridge Road was closed for about a half hour, then only two lanes reopened, before the accident was completely cleared around 8 p.m.
The crash victims are listed in fair and good condition respectively Tuesday morning.
Lake County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the crash.
