LEICESTER, NY : Driver dead after crashing into Livingston County building on Tuesday, 27th October, 2020

The driver of an SUV is dead after crashing into a building Tuesday morning in Livingston County, sparking a massive fire.

According to Sheriff Tom Dougherty, a small SUV crashed into the building around the Cuylerville curve on Cuylerville Road near Canal Street around 7 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene, the building was fully engulfed. Dougherty said crews tried to get to the SUV but were unable to do so.

The building, which houses Twisted Stitches and Moonie's Two Scoops, was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
