Splendora, TX : Two people dead in head-on crash in Montgomery County on Monday afternoon, May 9, 2016

A man and a woman died in a head-on crash Monday afternoon in southwest Montgomery County.

The two-vehicle wreck happened about 1:30 p.m. on FM 2090 near Splendora, according to the Department of Pubic Safety.

Troopers said 33-year-old Joshua Shane Duran was driving a Cadillac CTS eastbound on FM 2090 when he pulled into the westbound lane in a passing zone to pass several cars in front of him. But he slammed head-on into a 2010 Toyota Sienna traveling westbound.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 61-year-old Roxie Lyn Enloe, died at the scene.

Duran was injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
