Ann Arbor, MI : Tanker leaks 100 gallons of oil after crash on I-94 in Pittsfield Township on Friday, January 8, 2016

A tanker rolled over on I-94 in Pittsfield Township Friday morning and leaked 100 gallons of oil before firefighters stopped the leak.

The truck crashed shortly after 9 a.m. Jan. 8 while merging onto eastbound I-94 from northbound US-23 near Carpenter Road.

Huron Valley Ambulance transported the driver to the hospital in serious condition, said Pittsfield Fire Chief Sean Gleason.

Fire crews contained the leaking oil and are awaiting a cleanup company, he said.

A tow truck had the tanker upright at 11 a.m., and another prepared to haul it from the scene.

All lanes on eastbound I-94 and the ramp from northbound US-23 to I-94 are open as of 1:40 p.m.
