Rock County, WI : 22-year-old Cody L. Rader dead after a single-car crash on State Highway 11 in rural Rock County on Sunday, February 15, 2015

A 22-year-old Brodhead man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday in Rock County.

A passer-by noticed a car on a steep embankment on State Highway 11 west of Orfordville shortly before 7 a.m. When Rock County sheriff's deputies arrived, they discovered the driver of the vehicle had been ejected. Cody L. Rader was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The time of the crash is uncertain because the car only became visible when it became light out, the sheriff's department reported.

The vehicle was traveling west on Highway 11 when it veered off the north side of the road, traveled on to an elevated driveway and became airborne. Speed appears to be a contributing factor.
