Pelham, NH : One person died after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle near Tenney Road on Tuesday night August 26th 2014
Mammoth Road was closed near Tenney Road in Pelham Tuesday night after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of an unidentified motorcycle rider, The Sun has learned.
Police at the scene could not immediately comment as their investigation was just getting started, but multiple reports on Twitter accounts that monitor police-radio broadcasts indicated the crash caused a fatality. Sources confirmed that information later Tuesday night.
Both Southern New Hampshire Emergency Alerts and National Emergency Alerts New England tweeted that emergency crews performed CPR on someone involved in the crash and that that person later died.
Police were called to the intersection about 8:30 p.m.
A white hatchback at the scene was parked at an angle in the middle of Mammoth Road as a motorcycle lay on its side nearby amid broken glass.
An occupant of the car was also injured and was taken to a local hospital, The Sun has learned.
Police closed Mammoth Road in the area, and were directing cars onto Jeremy Hill and Bush Hill roads as a detour around the scene.
Pelham police said in a tweet that the closure would last until further notice.
New Hampshire State Police were also at the scene to assist Pelham officers.
