Tacoma, WA : I-5 lanes in Tacoma back open after crash; backup remains on May 27th 2014

Medics took four people to the hospital, one in serious condition, after a rollover collision on Interstate 5 in Tacoma stopped traffic in both directions.

Five vehicles were involved at the crash near 38th Street. Initially all lanes were blocked. All lanes reopened by 1 p.m. Tuesday, but traffic was still impacted in both directions. By 12:30 p.m., there was a seven mile backup in both directions.
At least four tow trucks were called to help clear the scene.

Two of the vehicles involved were disable after being struck by debris from a barrier.

The three other people injured were in stable condition.
